Ayon kay Top Rank Attorney Daniel Petrocelli, base sa naging desisyon ni Arbiter Daniel Weinstein, ng California Superior Court judge, sinabi nitong nilabag umano ng Golden Boy Promotions ang kasunduan sa Top Rank kaugnay sa promotional company na hahawak sa boxing career ni Donaire Jr.
Sinabi pa ni Petrocelli, sa ngayon ay hindi pa puwedeng ipagpatuloy ng Golden Boy ang kontrata sa Filipino Flash.
"We had arbitration pursuant to an agreement that exists currently between Top Rank and Golden Boy that various disputes must be arbitrated in front of the honorable Daniel Weinstein. He heard our petition that Golden Boy had violated an agreement between Top Rank and Golden Boy in signing Donaire to a promotional agreement, even though (Donaire) was still under contract with Top Rank. The judge agreed that Golden Boy had violated the agreement and issued an order that Golden Boy is enjoined, restrained, from purporting to promote Donaire at this time. They can not proceed under that contract at this time," ani Petrocelli.
Una ng sinabi ng Golden Boy, na pumirma na ng kontrata si Donaire matapos na sabihing isa na siyang free agent at puwede na itong pumirma sa kahit anong promotional outfit.
Si Nonito ay pumirma sa ilalim ng Top Rank ng tatlong taong kontrata, na ayon kay Arum mag-e-expire pa sa June 2013.
Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na nagkabanggaan ang dalawang promoter para sa promotional rights sa isang boxer.
Noong 2006, naglaban din ang Top Rank at Golden Boy sa kanilang pag-aagawan kung sino ang may karapatan kay Manny Pacquiao. (yahoosports)
