LOS ANGELES, California – Isang taga media, na gustong malaman kung gaano kalakas ang suntok ni 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, ang bumagsak ng tamaan ng isang suntok sa katawan kahit na nakasuot ito ng body armor.
Ito ang kinumpirma ni coach Freddie Roach, na nakabalik na sa Wild Card Gym, sa Los Angeles, California, pagkatapos ng limang araw na pananatili sa Manchester, England para sa laban ni WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan.
Ayon kay Roach, isang myembro ng CBS team na nagku-cover ng training ni Pacquiao, ang umakyat sa ring at gustong malaman kung gaano talaga kalakas ang suntok ng pound-for-pound king, kung kaya’t pinasuot nya ito ng body armor.
Isang malakas na suntok sa katawan ang binitawan ni Pacquiao na nagpaluhod sa mediaman at halos hindi ito makahinga at matagal bago nakatayo.
"There was a guy there from CBS who wanted to feel the way the punches felt. He wanted to feel how hard Manny hits, and Manny dropped him with one body shot, even though he was wearing the body protector. I mean, he had the whole camera crew there and everything, and he went right to his knees. And again, the guy was wearing my protector like I said." Ani Roach.
Ayon pa kay Roach na maging sya ay binugbog ni Pacquiao, sa unang araw ng kanilang training mula ng makabalik sya mula sa England, na para bang sabik na sabik na muli syang makita at makasama sa training.
“I got back Sunday night, and then, I went to the gym with Manny on Monday. And you know what? Manny was really hungry for the mitts. So we did 14 rounds on the mitts. We trained with no rest. Period. I mean, it was 14 rounds, straight through. And, he was just on fire and happy to have me home and he literally beat the sh*t out of me. And he did it in front of my mother.” Pahayag pa ni Roach.
