    REVAMP OF POLICE CHIEFS SET

A RESHUFFLE of police chiefs in different stations in Cebu is in the offing.
Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador, acting chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) , said a revamp is needed since there are component cities in the province that are headed by junior police officers.
Comendador said Talisay City is being headed by OIC Senior Insp. Errol De Veyra instead of an officer the rank of superintendent.
Comendador said he would also review the performance of police chiefs in other cities./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

    MAN STABBED FOR CELL PHONE

A 20-YEAR-OLD man was wounded when he resisted a robber in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, one of three street holdups that took place on Thursday.
Police said Erloper Momabacus and his girlfriend were walking on E. Tumulak Street around 1 a.m. when a man armed with a knife held them up.
The robber took the man’s cell phone.
Momabacus tried to get back his cell phone and instead got stabbed in the back.
In sitio Humay-humay, barangay Pajo, a man who pretended to be a customer tried to rob a beauty salon.
After having his hair cut, the man pointed a pair of scissors at the cashier-owner, Teresita Flores, 43.
But the man ran off when he saw a worker about to hit him with a chair.
Based on the description given by Flores, police said the robber could be the same man who earlier robbed taxi driver Cyril Arong.
Arong lost P1,000 cash in the earlier taxi heist.
In barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City, Bentolan, 20, was walking home when he was robbed at gunpoint.
