A MAN was arrested for drunken behavior and for posing as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, on Tuesday night.
Alfredo Levi Bones, 38, of barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, posted bail yesterday morning after he was charged with usurpation of authority. He was also fined for drunkenness, a violation of a city ordinance.
According to the investigation, Bones parked his vehicle in a gas station on M.C. Briones around 9 p.m.
When a drunk Bones and his two companions got off the vehicle, a gas attendant told him that it was a no-parking zone. Bones allegedly got mad and shouted, “NBI ko! (I am an NBI agent)!.”
Micheal Arbois, the gas station's supervisor, called the police.
PO3 Wendel Belandres arrived and brought Bones to the police station where the drunk man introduced himself as an NBI agent.
Bones, however, failed to present papers to prove that he is an NBI agent./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
